Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)


Job Description

The overwhelming majority of our clinical staff started working with us as ABA Therapists and undergraduate level students in behavior analysis who gradually became RBTs with the support of our board certified clinical staff.  Both ABA Therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) typically work on a part-time basis to teach communication, academic and other pertinent developmental skills to children on the autism spectrum, specifically utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  All duties are to be completed under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and extensive training and supervision will be provided in order to ensure competence.  This and all of our positions require travel as we are strictly a provider of behavioral services in the natural environment.  All candidates must have reliable transportation and must be available for a minimum of 2 days per week (Mon-Fri) and for a minimum of 3 consecutive hours each work day.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD

  • Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans as outlined by BIP

  • Conduct stimulus preference assessments

  • Collect data

  • Maintain client's program book

  • Develop / create teaching materials

  • Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)

  • Discuss client's daily progress with parents / caretakers

  • Work with BCBA to implement individualized goals and checklists

  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients

  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients

  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge with continuing education


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student in Behavior Analysis, Psychology or Education

  • Currently undergoing behavior analytic undergraduate-level coursework sequence as outlined by the BACB

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Outstanding social skills

  • Excellent observational and analytical skills

  • Candidates must be patient, flexible, energetic, self-motivated, creative and must work well in a team environment

  • Attend CPR and First Aid training courses

  • Pass criminal background check

  • Pass 40-hour training requirement


Special Considerations:

  • Candidates who have prior experience working with children

  • Candidates who are bilingual or ASL-proficient


Pay Rate:  Varies depending on experience and education



  • Free 40-Hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course, as recognized by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
