Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)

Job Description

Like RBTs, our Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) typically work on a part-time basis to teach communication, academic and other pertinent developmental skills to children on the autism spectrum, specifically utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  Additionally, BCaBAs will train and supervise the work of RBTs, train parents and caretakers on the ABA techniques relevant to their child's program, help devise skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatment plans for children with developmental delays, and provide continuous supervision of existing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).  All duties are to be completed under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and extensive training and supervision will be provided in order to ensure competence.  This and all of our positions require travel as we are strictly a provider of behavioral services in the natural environment.  All candidates must have reliable transportation and must be available for a minimum of 2 days per week (Mon-Fri) and for a minimum of 3 consecutive hours each work day.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide intensive one-on-one behavior therapy to children with developmental delays

  • Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans as outlined by BIP

  • Conduct stimulus preference assessments

  • Collect data

  • Maintain client's program book

  • Develop / create teaching materials

  • Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)

  • Discuss client's daily progress with parents / caretakers

  • Work with BCBA to implement individualized goals and checklists

  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients

  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients

  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge with continuing education

  • Behavioral  / Developmental Intakes & Assessments

  • Functional Assessments

  • Train & supervise the work of RBTs

  • Train parents / caretakers on the use of ABA techniques in the natural environment

  • Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) supervision & revision

  • Create BIPs for children with autism and other developmental delays

  • Graphing, charting, table and other visual data displays

  • Descriptive statistics

  • Behavior Report writing

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active BCaBA certification

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Outstanding social skills

  • Excellent observational and analytical skills

  • Candidates must be patient, flexible, energetic, self-motivated, creative and must work well in a team environment

  • Attend CPR and First Aid training courses

  • Pass criminal background check

 

Special Considerations:

  • Candidates who are bilingual or ASL-proficient

 

Pay Rate:  Varies depending on experience and education
